Now I&#8217;m at home! Now I&#8217;m at the busstop! Now I&#8217;m at work! Reactions: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bits.blogs.nytimes.com\/2010\/01\/29\/amazon-pulls-macmillan-books-over-e-book-price-disagreement\/\">the breaking news<\/a>; <\/li>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.publishersmarketplace.com\/lunch\/macmillan_30jan10.html\">Macmillan&#8217;s CEO responds promptly<\/a>; <\/li>\n<li>among many many others, authors <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antipope.org\/charlie\/blog-static\/2010\/01\/amazon-macmillan-an-outsiders.html\">Charles Stross<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/whatever.scalzi.com\/2010\/02\/01\/all-the-many-ways-amazon-so-very-failed-the-weekend\/\">John Scalzi<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tobiasbuckell.com\/2010\/01\/31\/why-my-books-are-no-longer-for-sale-via-amazon\/\">Tobias Buckell<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2010\/01\/29\/amazon-and-macmillan.html\">Cory Doctorow<\/a> weigh in; <\/li>\n<li>and finally <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/tag\/kindle\/forum\/ref=cm_cd_tfp_ef_tft_tp?_encoding=UTF8&#038;cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG&#038;cdThread=Tx2MEGQWTNGIMHV&#038;displayType=tagsDetail\">Amazon responds in an obscure location<\/a> two days after it all happened (this is months in internet-time). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In case you&#8217;re curious about non-Amazon options, there&#8217;s a number of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=online+books+site%3A.nz\">online bookstores in New Zealand<\/a> and I&#8217;ve recently discovered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookdepository.co.uk\/\">The Book Depository<\/a> in the UK with free international shipping.<\/p>\n<p><b>Bookcovers in LibGuides<\/b><br \/>Springshare have <a href=\"http:\/\/support.springshare.com\/2009\/12\/using-syndetics-book-covers-in-libguides\/\">announced a partnership with Syndetics<\/a> so we can now use Syndetics bookcover images in our LibGuides.  This is just like using the images from Amazon before &#8211; when adding a featured book just insert ISBN, click icon, and voila a cover image &#8211; but click the &#8220;S&#8221; (Syndetics) icon instead of the Amazon icon.
